DIY Laundry Detergent

Detergent is expensive, folks.
Tim and I have been married less than 2 months
and we've already gone through a huge thing of detergent.
As poor newlyweds,
constantly buying detergent is just ridiculous
(& pricey!)

So, I did a little research online and found an amazing recipe for homemade laundry detergent.
For all of the ingredients (and the cuuuute little canister) I spent less than $10.
And here's the kicker- I doubled the recipe and still have tons of Borax and washing soda left.
If I were to need more, I'd only have to spend .97 cents to buy another bar of Fels Naptha.
However, I doubt that'll be any time soon since I made 80 loads worth.

Here's a little recipe/how-to:
Each regular load uses 1 tablespoon of the mix.

Our first load using the new detergent is in the dryer right now.
So far, so good.
The clothes smelled fresh and clean coming out of the washer.
I'll let you know how I feel after they're dry.

ps- How fun/cute would this be as a wedding gift?
Put it in a little decorated canister with directions and the recipe?

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh- the right stuff!

Hello, friend.
How's your Saturday?

I woke up to the hubs doing the dishes.

Remember the promised deets and (better) pictures of the NKOTBSB concert?
Well, my girl Amber (who was a rockstar and got us FLOOR SEATS)
wrote a post about our experience earlier this week and I figured,
why not just send you over to her neck of the woods?
Plus, all of the pictures would be stolen from her if I were to attempt a post myself.

So click here to see some awesome pictures from our night with NKOTBSB
(and Matthew Morrison. *sigh*)

Tim & babies

It doesn't take much research to discover that I absolutely love children, especially the little ones. Goodness- put a tiny human within 500 ft of me and I am a mess. I'm that creeper that will ask to hold your child, even if we've only met once... or not at all. (jk- I'm not that bad. Well...)

That being said, you can imagine my inability to keep it together
when I see my hubby interacting with kiddos. Seriously. It's adorable.

To all of our friends that let us love on your little ones:
Thank you thank you thank you!
(esp. because it feeds my baby addiction and
keeps me from wanting to have one any time soon)

That, my dear friends, is Donnie Wahlberg.

& the Backstreet Boys

Yeah- I had an amazing night.
More details/stories later.
I'm exhausted from screaming/singing/dancing
like a 13 year old.

(We didn't take many pictures worth sharing on day 4.)

Overall, our honeymoon was amazing.
It rained on our excursion day in Cozumel,
and it was STILL fantastic.
I cannot wait to get my booty back to Mexico.

We had a little less than a week between
our wedding and our honeymoon.
Best. Decision. Ever.
We were exhausted after the wedding
and I can't imagine having to go straight from
our wedding night to our cruise.

Fingers crossed,
Tim and I can afford to go another one relatively soon.

Hope your weekend is going well.
I'm heading to Tulsa tomorrow night to see
New Kids on the Block,
Backstreet Boys,
and Matthew Morrison
with the lovely Mrs. Pless.

I know you're jealous!
