How does your garden grow?

We made a garden.

And by "we," I mean, my grandad, dad, and husband actually made the garden for me a few weeks back. Today was my time to join in the fun by helping hubs plant our first seeds.

We started with potatoes, onions, lettuce, carrots, strawberries, and sunflowers. Sawyer was eager to help!

This is our first try at anything garden/planting related. Here's to green thumbs and bountiful crops!

This weekend was ridiculously close to perfect. I hate that it's already Monday evening, because that solidifies the fact that it's actually over.

Friday started out rough. Tim's tire has been flat all week, and since our schedules are crazy, we didn't have a chance to get it fixed until my off day (Friday.) Worn out from a long week (and from the impending doom of that time of the month), I may or may not have teared up in the middle of the tire place when the salesman informed me that he didn't have a "compatible" tire in stock. Not my best moment. Luckily, there was an oversight and I was able to leave with a new tire (and what was left of my dignity.)

After that adventure, I picked up Mr. G and we headed to Dallas.

Friday night was uneventful, other than some much needed snuggle time with my sweet niece, Harper. Have I mentioned how perfect she is?

Saturday morning was spent at a not-so-thrilling work conference. While I spent most of the day wishing I was anywhere else, there was one upside to being stuck in a hotel ball room all day: the Blissdom conference was right down the hall. Why would I consider that an upside? Because one of my favorite bloggers was there. I've been following AP for over a year now, blog and Instagram, and could not pass up the chance to meet her in person.

It was fate. We were both in a state other than our own, in the same hotel, on the same floor. And guys, she is the sweetest. Check out her blog. (and super cute kiddos!)

I snuck out of the conference an hour early to meet up with hubs, my HS best friend, Sarah, and her "manfriend," Jake, for an FC Dallas soccer match. (This side of last month, I would have called it a "game," but I have been informed that in futbol, it's called a match.)

Tim and I went to a match last month and I have been hooked on soccer ever since.

Great night with great people! Plus, we won!

Knowing that my brother and sister-in-law probably hadn't slept in since Harper was born, we offered to take her Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Like I said, perfect. Plus, she slept through the night. angel baby.

The remainder of the weekend was spent showing Harper off and sneaking in last minute kisses before heading back to OKC (aka, the real world.)

Whoops

Well, here we are- seven months later. Let's dive right in, shall we?

Marriage is great. We're coming up on 2 years and to be honest, it is everything and nothing like I planned. (If that makes any sense at all.)

We moved into a house in October. It is absolutely WONDERFUL to be out of our tiny apartment. Plus, moving meant one very important thing: getting my sweet pup, Sawyer, back from my parents.

We welcomed my beautiful niece, Harper Marie, in December. Tim and I are both in love and are fighting the baby itch like mad because of it.

Oh, yeah! Mr. G graduated (finally!) and started full time at Nominee Design in December, as well. He is really thriving there and I couldn't be more proud.

That about catches us up. 2013 seems to be flying by and I know I'll hate myself in the future for not documenting more of it. Here's to a late resolution? Cheers!

Birthday Week

My birthday celebration started last weekend when my parents were up from Dallas to celebrate all of the August birthdays. (Mom, Grandma, mine, and my aunt-whew!). Tim gave me his present early (good husband!) and I couldn't love it more. He got me a Canon Rebel T3 and a fancy 75-300mm lens to go with it. Score. While I am the first to admit that I am NOT photographer, I do love taking pictures. Plus, Tim made the point that in the next few years, we have tons of things we'll want to capture. Glad he thinks ahead. I was just thinking about amping up the blog since the iPhone photos were getting old.

Luckily, my sweet friend Laura is an amazing photographer. While we were playing around after dinner, she snapped these few of me and the hubs.

Does anyone want to keep this little girl until December for me? I want her now, but our stupid apt. won't let us.

I am so incredibly blessed.

While this week was AMAZING, my heart is heavy due to two tragic and untimely deaths.

Mikey and Kelsey- give Rachel a huge hug for me and enjoy the view up there. You will be missed.

Hey there!

I'm baaaaaaaaack!

New hair. New camera. New adventures. Get ready, folks. It's gonna be good.

First up?

A little Fall vacay to Washington D.C. Can you believe I've never been? We were far from rich growing up, so our idea of a vacation was a trip across Texas in a mini-van.

Thanks to my rockstar dad and his 80,000 Rapid Rewards points, we only had to pay a whopping $20 for our plane tickets, round trip. Awe-to-the-some. We leave October 10. Let the countdown begin!

Friends, this is where YOU come in. What should we do? See? Eat? (You better believe I'm gonna hit up Georgetown Cupcakes first thing. Priorities, y'all!)

Also- I have been drooling over some coats and boots that will be PERFECT for a DC in the Fall. Since we didn't spend $600+ on airfare, it only seems right that I spend that money on clothes, riiiiiight?
